A Word From The Pastor
I was watching the news last night and I was witness to all the turmoil and hardship that is going on over the presidential elections in Iran. I watched as people were rioting in the streets and I saw as one Iranian lady named “Neda” was killed in the streets for protesting. The news reporter was interviewing an American citizen that was originally from there and still has family in Iran. She was explaining that there is a cry for freedom in her former country and that now there was nothing that was going to stop the people. They are now willing to die for freedom. As I was watching this, the Spirit of the Lord took me to Isaiah chapter 6.
1 In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord seated on a throne, high and exalted, and the train of his robe filled the temple. 2 Above him were seraphs, each with six wings: With two wings they covered their faces, with two they covered their feet, and with two they were flying. 3 And they were calling to one another: "Holy, holy, holy is the LORD Almighty; the whole earth is full of his glory."
I noticed at the end of verse 3, that the whole earth “is” full of His Glory, not was full, or will be full, but “is” full. That means that right now all over this earth, the Glory of the lord is manifest. Because of that, His Spirit is all over us, all the time and we know that where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is “freedom.” Most Iranians believe that they are crying out for freedom because it is democracy over dictatorship, but truly it is because the presence of God, His Glory is full where they are, most just don’t know it. We must lift them up in prayer and thank God everyday that we were born into Freedom. As we celebrate our independence on July 4th, let’s remember that without the fullness of His Glory, there is no freedom.
